Is my credit card number safe?

Egencia uses the Secure Sockets Layer and Private Communication Technology security standards that are supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or later and other popular browsers. SSL encodes your personal information (such as your password, address and phone number, or your credit card number) so that it is available only to you and the Egencia Travel Consultant who will help make sure your travel planning goes smoothly. This encryption makes doing business over the Internet as secure as making a purchase by telephone.

Do I always have to use the same credit card?

No, you can use as many different credit cards as you wish. For example, you can store the information of the credit cards you use most frequently so you don't have to type the credit card information every time you use it. Then, any time you want to use a different credit card, you can just select the card you wish to use and add the last four digits of that card. If you wish to use a card you haven't stored, you can still click the Use a different credit card link on the billing page. This will allow you to use a new credit card for this transaction, but it won't remove the original credit cards from our files unless you check the Remember this credit card for future use box when you use this new credit card.

    Using non-U.S. credit cards

Internationally-based credit cards may now be used to make the following:

    • flight reservations
    • hotel reservations
    • rental car reservations
When entering your international billing address be sure to click the Non USA link to enable the international billing address format.

Unless otherwise noted, all prices are quoted in US dollars. If the billing currency for your credit card is not US dollar, your card issuer may charge a currency conversion fee.

How will my flight tickets be delivered?

If you are issued an e-ticket, you will receive an e-mail that includes your itinerary information. You will not receive a paper confirmation, receipt or ticket. When you check in for your flight, give the ticket agent your name and flight number or provide a printed copy of your itinerary. You must always provide a government-issued photo ID.

Delivery time for paper tickets depends on the delivery option selected (Standard or Express), and the delivery destination (US / Canada / other countries). Egencia charges a nonrefundable shipping and handling fee (ranging from $19.99 - $36.99) for paper ticket delivery, and is charged at the time of purchase.

What if my tickets are lost or stolen?

If your paper airline tickets are lost or stolen, please call us immediately. An Egencia Travel Consultant will assist you in processing a lost ticket application.

In most cases, you will be required to purchase replacement tickets at "today's" fare. An Egencia Travel Consultant will facilitate the sale of these tickets. If your original tickets are not used after a designated period of time—generally 3 to 4 months—you will receive a credit for the purchase price of the replacement tickets, less the application fee and applicable Egencia fee. This fee varies by airline, but is typically $100.00 per traveler.

Each airline has its own rules and policies for issuing replacement tickets. Egencia is bound by these rules and policies and must adhere to them.

Why did the fare change at purchase time?

Egencia uses a real-time reservation database, the same used by travel agents worldwide, listing actual ticket prices and availability. As airlines fill flights or change fares, the database immediately reflects those changes. Always be sure to double-check prices when reserving or purchasing tickets, as the fare may have changed since you first searched for fares or created your itinerary.

I just tried to reserve or purchase a flight, or reserve a rental car. Why was I told to try again in 5 minutes?

This notice appears when you double-click on the Purchase or Reserve links. Only one click is necessary on any link in Egencia. Please wait 5 minutes and try your reservation again.

What if I need to change my flight arrangements?

If you need to change your flight arrangements less than 24 hours before the flight, call Egencia at the telephone number listed on your itinerary. To cancel or change a reservation or purchase, see When plans change.

What are e-tickets and why should I use them?

Electronic tickets, or e-tickets, now offered by many major airlines, allow you to travel without a paper ticket, eliminating the worry of leaving your tickets behind. An e-ticket confirms your airline ticket purchase without requiring a paper record; the only record of an e-ticket sale is in electronic form in the airline's computer system. When you buy e-tickets through Egencia, you'll receive a confirmation of your purchase via e-mail. You may also perform online exchanges of e-tickets on most major carriers.

For more information about traveling with e-tickets, see our Frequently Asked Questions about e-tickets.

On what airlines can I purchase e-tickets?

E-tickets are currently available on these and other airlines:
    AirTran Alaska Airlines
    America West
    American Airlines
    ATA
    British Airways
    Continental Airlines
    Delta Airlines
    Frontier Airlines
    Hawaiian Airlines
    Lufthansa
    Midwest Express
    Northwest Airlines
    United Airlines

In order to qualify for e-tickets, all segments of your trip must be flown on the same airline. While all of these airlines offer this service, e-tickets may not be available for every flight.

This list will be updated as e-tickets become available on more airlines.

How can I enter special discount plans, like free tickets (due to redeeming frequent flyer mileage), etc?

Right now, Flight Wizard and Lodging Wizard allow you to enter your frequent flyer and frequent guest plan numbers. Car Wizard allows you to enter the numbers for any frequent car rental plans to which you belong, or the discount codes appearing on coupons or available through organizations that offer special travel benefits. You should receive whatever discounts apply to those programs.
