What is a Company Rewards Program?
These are Programs that track company travel spend, then reward with points that can be redeemed for different perks; including free tickets, lounge passes, and upgrades.

What types of Rewards Programs are available to Egencia Clients?
At the company level, it's really Airline Programs. All major airlines have some type of a Company Rewards Program. They are very similar to each other in that points are earned based on purchases, and can be redeemed for rewards.
Examples include:

  • Delta SkyBonus
  • United PerksPlus
  • British Airways OnBusiness

Are the points awarded at the Company Level or Traveler level?
The points are awarded to the Company, and then the company can decide how to allocate the benefits to individuals.

Will my travelers still be able to earn frequent flyer miles with these carriers?
Yes, miles can still be earned by your travelers as usual.

Who do I give these free tickets to?
Some companies choose to give these to business travelers to save money, and others use them as incentives or rewards for good travel practices and behavior.

Can I really recognize savings from these programs?
Yes, definitely, because free tickets are the equivalent of cash savings. Lounge passes cost anywhere for $30 to $75 for a one-time visit. Upgrades are expensive.

Is a minimum spend or Annual Fee required?
The nice part about these programs is that there is no minimum spend commitment from companies. You simply earn points for your purchases. There are also no Annual Fees.

So what's in it for the airline?
It builds loyalty to the airline, just like a Frequent Flyer Program. It's also a good step for letting a supplier know that you're loyal, and a chance for them to start tracking your spend for a possible negotiated deal when you travel spend grows. As your travel spend grows, so will the perks.

How do I keep track of my Company's points?
The Airlines provides you with an account and log-in on their website. You can log-in any time and check your balances.

How are points accrued against travelers?
The airlines assign a Tour Code (or Tracking Number) to the company. That company gets loaded into the company's Egencia profile. Every time an employee from that company purchases the ticket, the Airline can track that ticket back to the company.

Which companies are good candidates for a Rewards Program?
The best candidates typically have an Annual Air Spend on a particular carrier between USD $50k - $350k. Anything above that, the airline is more interested in looking at a Corporate Agreement with you.
