UK Train Strike to begin Oct. 25
Union to hold series of 24-hour work stoppages.

Unionized train drivers in the U.K. plan to launch a series of strikes against Midland Mainline and Silverlink over pension concerns:
Midland Mainline From 0001 to 2359 Oct. 25, Nov. 1, 8, 22 and 29. The strikes will affect service between London and the East Midlands cities of Derby and Sheffield. Midland Mainline tentatively plans to provide limited rail service between Derby and London's St. Pancras station during strikes.
Silverlink: 24-hour strikes Oct. 26, Nov. 1, 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. This will affect service to Milton Keynes, Watford Junction, Kings Langley, Bushey, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Tring, Northampton and north London
