Air France (AF) flight 447 went missing over the Atlantic Ocean off the Brazilian coast around 0600 June 1 while carrying 228 people. The plane was en route from Rio de Janeiro-Galeo International Airport (GIG), Brazil, to Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) in Paris, France, where it was scheduled to land at 0910 GMT.
